The Art of Stanley Kubrick (and His Daughter Vivian Kubrick)

Stanley Kubrick was one of the most prolific directors in Hollywood History. His tour de force of accomplished works include:

  • 2001 a Space Odyssey
  • Dr Strangelove
  • A Clockwork Orange
  • Barry Lyndon
  • The Shining
  • Full Metal Jacket

His early films were:

  • Fear and Desire
  • Killer’s Kiss
  • The Killing
  • Paths of Glory
  • Spartacus
  • Lolita

His last film was Eyes Wide Shut. Some say in Eyes Wide Shut he was giving a glimpse into what actually goes on in the world at its highest echelon.

Many feel that Kubrick used his filmmaking magic to be the primary resource to fake the moon landings, and he hinted to it in his later movies, especially The Shining. There is even a video floating around the internet which appears to show Kubrick admitting this before he died — but that is a fake; an actor is playing Kubrick.

Vivian Kubrick — Composed the Score to “Full Metal Jacket”

His daughter Vivian has also become a filmmaker and composer of note. She composed the score to Full Metal Jacket, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Vivian, born August 5, 1960, actually played a role in 2001: A Space Odyssey — she played “Squirt” — Dr. Floyd’s daughter. She also played a small role as a party guest in The Shining.

There is an Excellent interview with Vivian Kubrick by Alex Jones below. The interview also has Amanda Milius, the daughter of director John Milius, making an appearance midway through. John Milius is famous for directing Apocalypse Now, Jeremiah Johnson, Dirty Harry, and Conan The Barbarian.
