Rumble Videos — How to Remove Large Black Borders on WordPress Sites

Rumble is the relatively new video platform that is all the rage — so many popular content creators moving to it after so many people were banned from youtube. It is the Freedom of Speech Platform, and is growing by the day.

One issue we encountered when embedding Rumble videos on WordPress posts is that a HUGE black border is placed above and below the video once you publish the WordPress post.

I discovered how to correct this issue, and posted a video — to Rumble. It is here — with the adjustment applied:

The trick is to:

  1. At the bottom right of the Rumble video, click the ellipses button (3 vertical dots) and choose Embed.
  2. At the top of the Embed dialog that opens, change the default choice of JavaScript and instead choose iFrame. Copy the code provided (CTRL-C).
  3. Then — very important — in WordPress, type in some text on the line you want to put the video, highlight the text and then switch from Visual to Text mode via the tabs in upper right-hand corner. Paste the video code over the highlighted text while in Text mode.
  4. Switch back to Visual mode (via the tabs in the upper right-hand corner).
  5. Publish your post — you are good to go.
